Who needs it?
How it works
In a perfect world you have plenty of time for work, play, and rest. You eat foods that nourish you and make you strong. You move your body regularly doing something that you love. Your creativity flows and you have the energy to do what you want to do. This is called Balance.
Injuries, illness, and emotional distress are the ways that your body alerts you to an imbalance. Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine are all about restoring balance. How? Acupuncture moves your Qi.
What the heck is Qi?
Qi is the life energy that exists in all living things. Qi is everything— the energy required to grow, to thrive, and to protect our body from illness and injury. Qi is generated from the food we eat, the air we breathe, and our genetic makeup.
Qi flows through the body in energy channels called meridians. These channels have points on them and acupuncturists use these points to communicate with and to move your Qi. It’s really quite amazing!
Acupuncture really works
Acupuncture can get you up and running again by stimulating endorphins, reducing pain and inflammation, boosting your Qi and initiating your own healing response. There are over 365 acupuncture points on the body not including motor and trigger points.
Acupuncture points are smart. Each one has a unique effect on the movement of Qi. These points also regulate all aspects of your health. Your practitioner carefully selects a combination of points based on your unique makeup and health concerns. Extremely thin, sterile and disposable needles are used for your treatment.
We are honored to be a part of team you. Acupuncture works well with other modalities like Western medicine, chiropractic care, homeopathy, massage and physical therapy.
