traditional chinese medicine

Traditional Chinese Medicine is an ancient practice that encompasses a holistic approach to health and well-being.

This comprehensive approach recognizes the interconnectedness of the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects within each individual. The focus is on identifying and treating the root cause of symptoms, restoring the body’s natural balance, and regulating energy flow.

Sessions are carefully customized to support you as a whole person.

Acupuncture activates the body’s own self-healing mechanism and works as a remedy for symptoms, a treatment to prevent illness, maintain wellness and cultivate vitality.

acupuncture & energy treatments

Acupuncture treatments are combined with additional therapeutic modalities to offer a multi-sensory healing experience. In addition to acupuncture, your session may incorporate cupping, gua sha, herbal and/or supplement prescriptions, essential oils, sound healing, crystal medicine, infrared light therapy, breath work, meditation, energy work, lifestyle and nutrition recommendations and intuitive guidance. This comprehensive approach is designed to support all aspects of your health and well-being.

therapeutic healing modalities

Essential oils harness the healing and restorative properties of nature, offering a wide range of wellness benefits. These oils are the concentrated essences of plants, known for their powerful effects on overall health and well-being.  Each oil is composed of unique natural chemical compounds, which provide specific therapeutic benefits.

Cupping involves the application of suction cups on the skin to release the fascia, reduce muscle tension, improve blood flow, and reduce inflammation, pain and toxins. It can also be used for calming the nervous system, reducing asthma and boosting immunity.

In Chinese Medicine, diet and nutrition play a vital role in restoring and improving health. The ideal diet is individualized, tailored to each person’s unique constitution, current condition, and symptoms. Personalized recommendations are given on which foods to include or avoid to optimize your health and well-being.

Flower essences capture the energetic essence of a flower, infused into water. Each flower essence carries a unique vibrational signature that fosters emotional balance, energetic alignment, and spiritual evolution.

Gua sha involves repeated pressed strokes over the skin with a smooth-edged tool. This technique provides a variety of benefits, including improved qi circulation, muscle tension relief, fascia breakdown, and symptom alleviation.

Medical Qi Gong is an energy-based medicine that involves mostly hands free energy balancing work.It is one of the four main branches of Traditional Chinese Medicine, alongside acupuncture, herbal medicine, and medical massage. Similar to acupuncture, Medical Qi Gong can have deeply transformative effects on the body, mind, and spirit. It may be integrated into your acupuncture session or you may be given a simple Qi Gong exercise to practice at home to help maintain balance and support your well-being.

Stone medicine, also known as crystal healing or gemstone therapy utilizes crystals and stones to align and harmonize the body’s energy and support the healing process.

Sound Healing, an ancient form of energy medicine, fosters healing across the physical, emotional, and spiritual realms. The harmonious tones created by singing bowls synchronize the brain into Theta brainwave frequencies, leading to relaxation, deep meditation, and enhanced mental clarity. The sound vibrations help to harmonize the nervous system, encouraging cells and organs to shift into a healthier vibrational state, fostering overall well-being.

Tuning forks work on the principle of vibrational healing. When activated, they produce a pure sustained tone at a precise frequency. These vibrations resonate with the body’s energy field, helping to restore balance and harmony. They can be used on specific acupuncture points or more general areas of the body to promote relaxation and healing.

ADD-ON THERAPIES FOR AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE:

Light Emitting Diode (LED) involves the use of specific light wavelengths to treat various conditions. This non-invasive approach offers therapeutic benefits for issues like acne, aging skin, pain, hair restoration and more. The light energy is absorbed by cells, boosting their function and supporting natural self-repair and rejuvenation processes.

Discover which body systems and lifestyle areas need support with this non-invasive wellness scan. A ZYTO scanner is a device used to perform a bio-investigation of the human body in a process known as bio-communication. In short, a ZYTO scanner asks your body questions and records the responses in the form of impulses it receives. The individualized report helps us to formulate a wellness plan that may include supplements, dietary and lifestyle changes and treatment recommendations.

Before your first appointment, you will receive forms to complete online via email, and you’ll set up your online patient account. Prior to your treatment, we recommend having a light snack, staying hydrated, and avoiding too much caffeine. If you are planning to work out on the day of your treatment, do it before so you can rest afterwards. If possible, please wear loose-fitting clothing that can be easily rolled up. We will provide linens to drape you if you need to remove any clothing during the session.

The needles used are single-use, stainless steel, sterile, and disposable. They are extremely fine and designed to pass through the skin with minimal discomfort. You may feel a slight sensation of distention, pressure, or nothing at all during insertion. Many patients are pleasantly surprised by how comfortable and relaxed they feel throughout the treatment.

The number of treatments you need depends on the duration of your condition, your lifestyle habits, and any underlying factors. Acupuncture is cumulative, and the frequency of sessions can vary. Often, patients come for treatments once or twice per week while a specific condition is being addressed with a gradual reduction to once or twice per month. An average course of treatment is 6-10 visits. Some patients  continue to come once or twice a month to boost the immune system, manage chronic pain and to maintain good health.

Please note, we do not accept or bill insurance directly. We accept payment for services via cash, credit card, Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), and Health Savings Accounts (HSA).
